Good local-style food. There are daily specials and comfort food standbys like their spaghetti. Prices are reasonable and the eating area is nice. It's the closest I can get to feeling like I'm at my mom's eating her cooking.
Good selection of local food, prices going up but still competitive. Still plenty parking and not crowded. No early morning bento to go. Recent road closure nearby.
I am usually too lazy to consistently post photos and reviews, but I had to do one for Karen’s. It’s Hurricane Lane Thursday, and walked into Karen’s while waiting for my car at Lex Brodis.
First thing I saw was the specials which included, Corned Beef Cabbage!!!! Omfg I’ve been wanting this for months!
But, they also got mushroom Chicken too!!!!
The corned beef is just as you would hope it would be. Salty, soft, and juicy.
I didn’t eat the mushroom chicken yet, but I’m getting a plate to eat during the storm.
Mahalo, Karen!
Aloha all, this small hole in da wall has been here for years because it has always provided some of the best food and local favorites. You will enjoy the fried rice , local moco, and so much more. Stop by and enjoy.
Another local business that I will continue to support. Their food is almost always good (except for that one time..).
It’s a plate lunch place, they have regular and mini sizes, but compared to other places, the mini’s are still pretty huge.
Definitely worth a try if your in the area.
If you want local style food then this is your place. There are specials that are very reasonably priced and the quality is decent. For a small place there's enough seating for a small crowd. Not a fancy place but good for a quick no frills bite to eat.
I liked it. Had the loco moco. Huge portions. Not touristy. Giving five stars for the kind of place it is. Reasonable prices, too.
Ordered the corned beef hash breakfast plate. Corned beef tasted and felt like it had been sitting on the griddle for half an hour. Dry, dessicated, and tasted like stale oil. Was pretty surprised when my food came out in what seemed like two minutes, but it's no surprise now... Coworker said his turkey plate was okay, nothing special.
